Total TV Ratings, April 5

Blade RunnerGeoffrey ChaucerDaniel Ricciardo, and pineapples were the hot topics on Hard Quiz, with Tom Gleeson skewering all four contestants in front of 876,000, up 17%.

In the I’m A Celebrity jungle, Aesha and Kerri-Anne were the lucky (???) pair chosen to take part in the challenge, with 809,000 watching as they had to scoop the poop in some of the nastiest portaloos on earth, lifting 39%.

With the contestants starting to really feel the effects of the lack of food on the third episode of Alone Australia, 791,000 watched as self confessed ‘Alpha Male’ Peter took his axe and tapped out due to a fall and lack of protein – lifting a whopping 160%. Also on SBS, drama Rogue Heroes was up 157% for a total audience of 550,000.

SBS is reporting that the Total TV audience for episode one of Alone Australia now stands at 909,000, and episode two is now at a Total TV audience of 894,000, helping cement the show’s place as SBS’s highest rating program for 2023 to date.

Seven has won Wednesday night with a primary share of 22.6% and a network share of 30.6%. The highest rated multichannel was 7Two with a 3.2% share.

On Seven’s Home and Away, Marilyn turned the diner into a day spa for an audience of 433,000. Love bubbles burst on Farmer Wants A Wife, with some of the women noticing that the Farmers had already formed connections with their 24 hour date partners. 508,000 watched as the Farmers received a letter from Sam Armytage instructing them to choose two ladies for a double date the next day, before making the tough decision to send one of them home. The Front Bar rounded out the night for 403,000, with 182,000 in Melbourne. 

On Nine, A Current Affair looked back at the life of John Olsen, often regarded as “Australia’s greatest living artist”, and showed 646,000 the moment that a dodgy tradie backed into another car at a shopping centre. It was a game of spot the difference on Lego Masters: Grand Masters, as the pairs were tasked with replicating an object from a spy’s office out of Lego. 454,000 watched as Sophie Monk was tasked with spotting the Lego objects, only guessing three of the eight replica items. 

The ABC’s 7.30 interviewed the former shadow minister for Indigenous Affairs, Julian Leeser for 465,000, after his decision to leave the frontbench over the party’s stance on The Voice. It was a battle between Scouts Australia, The Incredibles, Michael Jordan, and penny-farthing bicycles on Hard Quiz, with Tom Gleeson and the team bringing in 472,000 viewers. 382,000 stuck with the ABC for The Weekly with Charlie Pickering, before Aunty Donna’s Coffee Cafe made its (fairly absurd) debut for 227,000. 

On 10, The Project (208,000 6:30pm / 272,000 7pm) looked at the decision to bring the NHL ice hockey competition down under, and interviewed Charli Grant about scoring her first goal for the Matildas. It was Fear Pong day on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! for Aesha, Bianca, Debra, and Nathan. 436,000 watched as the celebs were tasked with chowing down on ​​Madagascan cockroach topped with whipped cream, pig anus with a sprinkle of shredded cheese, earthworms and peanut butter, and cow brains with a side of marshmallows.

On SBS, Alone Australia took 204,000 back into the Tasmanian wilderness, with the participants working more their shelters – some more impressive (or waterproof) than others.
