ABC’s NSW election coverage topped total TV, increasing 9% to 470,000 as Labor won.

ABC continued its total TV success, with The Larkins rising 29% to 419,000, while Under The Vines had an increase of 42% to reach 356,000.

Nine’s Getaway came in next, with an increase of 4% to reach 326,000.

Overnight TV Ratings, April 1

Seven won the first night of April with a 36.5% network share and a primary channel share of 26.8%, while 9GO topped multichannels with 3.9%.

Seven’s Saturday night AFL topped the night, pulling in 475,000, with 229,000 tuning in from Melbourne to watch the St Kilda Saints go head-to-head with the Essendon Bombers to win 14.8 (92) to 11.8 (74). Earlier in the night, 177,000 tuned in for the pre-match coverage despite not airing in Sydney. Border Security – Australia’s Front Line had 152,000 as a student is found carrying an unusual amount of mooncakes, which officers think were loaded with an illicit substance.

On Nine, A Current Affair reached 300,000 as ACA reporter Martin King reflected on his iconic interview with cult leader David Koresh 30 years on. Later in the night, 268,000 watched the Space Invaders team tackle two neighbouring homes jam-packed with clutter for the first time ever. Additionally, Getaway clocked 281,000 as Poh Ling Yeow enjoyed a wonderful wintry cruise through Europe’s Christmas markets.

On the ABC, The Larkins topped entertainment with 272,000 as Mariette and Charley make a welcome return home. Later in the night, 228,000 settled in for Under The Vines to watch Daisy ecstatic over Griffin’s visit, and everyone fed up with Louis’ self-pity following his marriage break up.

The F1 Grand Prix championship coverage kicked off on 10 with 194,000 tuning in to watch Max Verstappen land pole position. Additionally, 10 News First had 142,000.

The highest-rated non-news show on SBS was The World’s Most Beautiful Landscapes, with 120,000.

Fox League topped subscription TV with its coverage of Broncos v West Tigers. The Brisbane Broncos stay unbeaten with 46-12 win over Wests Tigers in front of 279,000. Earlier in the night, 268,000 tuned in to watch St George Illawarra defeat the Dolphins 38-12. On Fox Footy, GWS v Carlton had 231,000 and St Kilda v Essendon clocked 180,000. The F1 qualifying on Fox Sports reached 178,000.
