TV Guide: Beauty and the Geek on Nine and 9Now

Beauty and the Geek

• Beauty and the Geek, premieres on Sunday, July 11, at 7.00pm on Nine and 9Now

Discover if opposites really do attract when one of Australia’s most heartfelt TV series, Beauty and the Geek, premieres on Sunday, July 11, at 7.00pm on Nine and 9Now.

The 2021 reboot, hosted by Sophie Monk, has all the fun of the original series with a new layer of heart and warmth.

The 10 beauties and 10 geeks work together through a series of real-life challenges in the search to find a romantic spark or a lifelong friendship. Connections are made as two very different worlds collide and strong partnerships bloom in the most unlikely places.

The beauties have their eyes and hearts opened to new possibilities as they help the geeks find their voice, and in return learn a thing or two from the geeks about stepping outside of their comfort zones.

The makeovers are back. The geeks undergo physical transformations to the delight of their beauties, and along with it a new layer of confidence.

The winning couples from each night’s challenge score one-on-one date time which could help them seed a connection and solidify a relationship. The couples who are not so successful, however, may end up in the bottom two, forced to duel it out in a challenge which will result in the losing couple going home. At the end of the series one couple will be declared the winner and take home $100,000.

Nine’s director of Powered, Liana Dubois, said the timing of the reboot of family-friendly Beauty and the Geek is perfect for brands.

“We’re tickled pink with the return of this feelgood favourite at a time when Australia needs a little escapism and a wholesome reason to smile. Beauty and the Geek is the perfect platform for brands looking to connect emotionally with the audience as we watch our couples step through the spectrum of human experiences,” Dubois said.

“The reach and deep engagement of the Beauty and the Geek audience is a delightfully geeky match for our brand partners, who are also capitalising creatively across the series.”
