2GB 12.1% (13.3%)
2019 results: Best/worst
Best 10+ 14.8% (12.1%)
Best breakfast 17.6% (14.7%)

Although listeners might get whiplash from the raft of changes impacting the station for 2020, the core team of Alan Jones, Ray Hadley and Ben Fordham remains unchanged. The introduction of Deb Knight and Brooke Corte to the line-up is an overdue appointment of women to key positions. The station however is close to a two-year low overall and at breakfast.

smoothfm 9.3% (9.3%)
2019 results: Best/worst
Best 10+ 10.0% (9.1%)
Best breakfast 8.5% (5.9%)

The result caps off a massive year for the music brand. A rise of 1.2 on weekends to 10.5% balanced out falls in breakfast after afternoon this survey.

KIIS 1065 8.8% (9.0%)
2019 results: Best/worst
Best 10+ 9.3% (7.7%)
Best breakfast 11.8% (10.1%)

Kyle and Jackie O maintain their breakfast dominance helped along with a massive home, land and car giveaway at the year’s end. All the FM giants with the exception of smooth are having trouble holding audiences after 9am and KIIS is no exception, down 1.1 in morning this survey. Will and Woody continue to rank #1 overall in drive.

WSFM 7.5% (7.6%)
2019 results: Best/worst
Best 10+ 8.8% (7.5%)
Best breakfast 8.8% (7.9%)

After noting the station was close to a two-year low last survey, it has continued to edge downwards. However breakfast with Jonesy and Amanda is up 0.5 to 8.5% as they remain #2 FM breakfast. Station share was down 40-54, but up 55-64.

Nova 96.9 7.2% (7.6%)
2019 results: Best/worst
Best 10+ 7.6% (6.5%)
Best breakfast 7.8% (6.4%)

The station cume has slipped to #2, narrowly behind KIIS. Breakfast share with Fitzy and Wippa was down, but they still cume #2, also behind KIIS.

104.9 Triple M 5.2% (6.4%)
2019 results: Best/worst
Best 10+ 6.4% (4.6%)
Best breakfast 6.9% (4.7%)

Very rare achievement in that every survey was up on the previous – except for survey 8. The station went from 4.6% to 6.4% across the year, but it all went wrong in the final survey with the station share slipping back to 5.2%. The station slipped 25-39 too, down 3.4. Breakfast with Moonman too took a hit with share back to 5.3, down 1.6 in one survey. The year still sees breakfast ahead and there would be no surprise if the climb continues in 2020.

104.1 2Day FM 4.1% (3.9%)
2019 results: Best/worst
Best 10% 6.0% (3.9%)
Best breakfast 4.5% (2.4%)

Now that Dave Cameron is taking over as network content boss expect Sydney Hit breakfast to be a top priority. Share was up 0.9 to 3.5% this survey. The station has a long list of options, the skill will be picking the right one.

2CH 1170 4.3% (3.5%)
2019 results: Best/worst
Best 10+ 4.5% (3.4%)
Best breakfast 4.1% (2.1%)

As with most cancelled breakfast shows, the numbers have gone up for Indira and Trevor. Their final share of 3.0% was up 0.9, not their best, but also not their lowest for the year.

Sky Sports Radio 0.7% (0.8%)
2019 results: Best/worst
Best 10+ 0.9% (0.4%)
Best breakfast 1.6% (0.3%)

Breakfast share slipped 0.5 to 0.8 as there is still no sighting of a new team for Big Sports Breakfast.

Macquarie Sports 954 0.7% (0.8%)
2019 results: Best/worst
Best 10+ 1.1% (0.5%)
Best breakfast 1.6% (0.6%)

Cricket must be helping keep the station on a share equal to Sky Sports Radio. Nine’s WWOS brand is coming to Macquarie, but surprisingly its heading to the 2GB/4BC/3AW stations first.

Photo: 2Day breakfast with Jamie Angel was the biggest mover this survey, up 0.9 to 3.5%. But will SCA persevere with the format in 2020?
