• “We have seen significant audience cume growth across the country”

As the results of the second radio ratings survey for 2022 settle, SCA’s chief content officer, Dave Cameron, has spoken about the strong results that SCA metro stations have seen.

“We have seen significant audience cume growth across the country, as audiences return back to cars, workplaces, and a shift back to music and entertainment stations. The Hit Network remains No.1 nationally in our key target of 25-54 women, and likewise Triple M as No.1 for 25-54 men.”

Sydney’s 2DayFM has seen a cume lift of over 120,000 in two surveys, with the breakfast shift with Hughesy, Ed, and Erin up with 4.2%, the best in 12 months and the equal second best share in three years. On Triple M, breakfast now hosted by Mark Geyer with Jess and Pagey was up 4.7%.

“In Sydney, 2DayFM and Triple M Sydney have both delivered terrific audience growth through breakfast, workday and drive as they both continue to build momentum,” Cameron said.

Leading the way for SCA in Melbourne is The Fox’s Fifi, Fev, and Nick where the breakfast share has ballooned to 9.6%, the best result since mid-2019.

“In Melbourne, The Fox continues its rise post lockdowns with large rises in the Fifi, Fev and Nick breakfast show to be now just 0.7 off No.1 FM, and Fox remains the most listened to station in Australia with nearly 1.2m cume,” said Cameron.

In Brisbane, Cameron says “B105’s Stav, Abbie and Matt has delivered a No.1 FM Breakfast result for Brisbane with strong audience increases across the station.

“Nationally, Triple M’s Marty Sheargold Show remains No.1 25-54 men, Carrie and Tommy on Hit has increased its audience by another 104,000 national listeners, and Abbie Chatfield’s new national Hit nights show Hot Nights has delivered its second national share increase after only 10 weeks on air.

“With nine out of our 10 metro stations up in survey 2, and many of those seeing our best results in several years, we’re rapt with the momentum our stations and breakfast, drive and nights shows led by Australia’s biggest and most exciting talent have delivered today.”
