The market leader has lost a combined 1.5 points to start the year after two surveys, but with share still over 15% it doesn’t seem in much danger of being unseated. The next survey will all be in the football season which won’t hurt. Although share has dipped a little, cume in the two surveys is up over 50,000. Breakfast with Ross and Russ dipped 3.6 but it still stands tall in the market on 18.9%. Morning with Neil Mitchell was up 0.9 this survey and is close to the station’s best on 18.5%. Share dipped only a little 55+, but was up 0.4 to 9.1% 40-54. 3AW slipped to #4 from #2 in that demo though as the FM stations lifted this survey.

FM strikes back across the metro markets this survey and while that has kept Gold strong, it has given rise to competition it hasn’t seen for a while. Gold cume climbed over 1.1m this survey, but it is still shy of Fox, but ahead of KIIS and Nova who are both closer to 1.1m. Christian O’Connell grew his market-leading FM share to 10.3% keeping his winning-streak alive, but there is renewed competition with Fox and Nova breathing down his neck. The FM breakfast market leader worked the first week of the survey break which won’t hurt. Breakfast and weekends were the only slots to grow this survey. Share dipped a little 40+, yet Gold remains #1 overall 40-54 and #1 FM 55-64.
