• Mix 102.3 rules as Fiveaa breakfast surges again

Biggest movers:

Up: Nova 91.9 +0.6
Down: Hit 107 -0.9

Mix 102.3 12.1%

The ARN longtime market leader is back in unfamiliar territory. This is the lowest share since the end of 2017. The station’s lowest share last year was 12.9%. Breakfast with Jodie and Soda dropped 1.4 this survey to 10.8%, their lowest in a long time, over four years at least. The fact Mix can still rank as the #1 commercial station shows how strong the brand is. It needs to start a recovery next survey though.

Fiveaa 11.1%

It’s been the David and Will show this year with breakfast share jumping from 11.1% to 14.0% in two books. Their 14.0% share is taking them back to their best of last year when the show rated over 14% in four successive surveys. The rise in breakfast was also good for Leon Byner with his morning share up from 11.3% to 13.7%.

Nova 91.9 10.9%

The station has recorded its second best share in 18 months, with those two 10%+ performances in the first half of this year. Happy breakfast means happy station and Dylan and Hayley lifted breakfast share 0.3 to 9.7%. Kate, Tim and Marty continue to rule in drive, with share up 0.4 to 13.9%.

5MMM 8.9%

A small improvement of 0.5 has had a big impact, moving the station to fourth from sixth in the market. Breakfast with Roo and Ditts is up 1.1 to 9.3%, ideally on its way back to double figures where the show was for 13 out of 16 surveys in 2017 and 2018.

Cruise 1323 8.7%

The only major movement this survey was drive slipping 1.2 to 6.0%. Breakfast lifted 0.3 to 7.2%, which helped offset the drive impact.

 Hit 107 8.3%

It has not been the greatest survey for SCA’s Hit Network stations, with the exception of Fox FM. The Adelaide station dropped 0.9 overall with the Bec and Cosi breakfast show also down 0.9%. Drive also took a hit with Hughesy and Kate down 1.6 to 9.8%.
