Perth Radio Ratings: Quick turnaround as 96FM surges in breakfast, Nova up too

Breakfast with Clairsy, Matt and Kymba was down slightly but with 14.8% (-0.3) remains the clear market leader

Biggest rise: 96FM (+0.5)
Biggest fall: Hit 92.9/6iX (-0.6)

Mix 94.5 15.4% (-0.2)

This result mirrors that station’s strong start to 2018 with the first two surveys recording shares over 15%. Breakfast with Clairsy, Matt and Kymba was down slightly but with 14.8% (-0.3) remains the clear market leader, as do all the Mix dayparts. It remains a great market for Jane Kennedy and Mick Molloy where their drive show makes up much of the winning 15.2% share.

Nova 93.7 12.1% (-0.1)

The station is close to where it was this time last year before breakfast with Nathan, Nat and Shaun let off a few ratings bombs. They are on 13.6%, 1.2 behind the leaders, but they made it to 15% twice in 2018. Also sitting in second place are Kate, Tim and Marty although the gap has widened a little between Mix and Nova drive.

Hit 92.9 8.8% (-0.6)

The station has its smallest breakfast share – 8.5% – since the end of 2017 and the equal smallest in over three years. The highest rating daypart used to be drive, but Hughesy and Kate slipped 3.3 to 8.2% this survey. The best is now morning and afternoon on 10.10%.

96FM 8.3% (+0.5)

New MD Gary Roberts walks through the door and BAM, up go the numbers. While he explained to Mediaweek on Monday he’s not expecting the audience to move too quickly, he and the team will be happy to grab this 0.5 growth. Breakfast with Paul and Lisa with Shane Lowe lifted 1.1 to 7.3%.

6PR 7.1% (+0.1)

The station has started the year a little better than 2018. Breakfast with Steve and Baz was down 0.3 to 9.0%, but it remains the station’s best share.

6iX 4.4% (-0.6)

This is the lowest share since 2017. The trend was down across all timeslots with breakfast taking the biggest whack where Ian Blackley dipped 0.7 to 3.9%, which isn’t great, but the station had worse results last year.
