Nova’s Adelaide duo, Ben and Liam addressed the on-air fight between KIIS 106.5’s Kyle and Jackie O that aired on Wednesday morning.

Ben and Liam’s commentary comes after radio host Kyle Sandilands stormed out of the studio minutes into the episode, calling his co-host an “idiot” and ordering her to “do the show by yourself.”

In their breakfast radio show, Liam brought up the dispute with co-host Ben.

“We like listening around to different radio shows and hearing what people are doing and one of the biggest shows in Australia over the last few years has been Kyle and Jackie O, they do a show in Sydney and there was a bit of a storm out on their show yesterday,”

“In nine years we’ve never really had like a proper blow-up but they had a blow-up on-air, well have a listen,” he added, before playing Kyle and Jackie O’s dispute.

Sandilands 12-minute rant started after Jackie O and newsreader Brooklyn Ross opened Wednesday’s show by discussing the news that former NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian allegedly once called Prime Minister Scott Morrison a “horrible, horrible person” in a text message.

Ben and Liam mocked the fight by getting into a fake argument over whether Sandilands on-air meltdown was for ratings or not.

Ben kicked off the fake argument, saying: “Now what you need to do is to listen instead of making arguments all the time,”

To which Liam responded: “What you’re doing is just being a stupid person,” before mocking Sandilands outburst and leaving the show.

The hilarious exchange ended with a producer calling out to Liam, saying: “No Liam, we need you,” like KIIS’s producer Brooklyn Ross did to Sandilands, before Ben ended the segment by copying Jackie O’s shock, saying: “Did something happen while I was gone? I think we’ll just play a song I guess.”

Sandilands apologised for Wednesday’s blow-up on this morning’s show admitting he felt embarrassed.

“I felt very justified, but I did get my back up a bit – but that happens among friends,” he said on air.
