Nine HD and 9Life kick off, Foxtel customers get them too

Nine Network has launched its primary channel in high definition as well as its new multichannel 9Life.

• SBS and ABC yet to finalise plans with Foxtel for Food Network and ABC HD

It is a big day for the Nine Network with the launch of the primary channel in high definition and the launch of the new multichannel 9Life.

The good news for Foxtel cable subscribers is that they too get the new channels. All of a sudden the Nine Network fills five channels on the Foxtel cable channel lineup:

9HD channel 209 New
9Life channel 194 New
Nine SD channel 100
9GEM SD channel 192
9GO! channel 139

Viewers who use an aerial to access their TV signals will only be able to get the HD signal in metro areas including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Adelaide, Perth, and Darwin.

In order to access the new channel viewers will need to re-tune their televisions.

Meanwhile the first free-to-air TV channel to launch in nine days (since the launch of Food Network!), 9Life, went to air this morning at 6am.
