HT&E has announced the appointment of HT&E company secretary & taxation director, Jeremy Child to the role of chief legal officer and company secretary.
Child joined HT&E Limited in 2015 as group taxation manager and took on the expanded role of company secretary in August 2019.
In his new role, Child will report to CEO, Ciaran Davis, join the Executive Leadership Team, and continue to play the important role of company secretary for HT&E, whilst assuming responsibility for its Legal function.

Jeremy has been with HT&E since 2015 and has made several significant contributions to the business, most recently playing a key role in the acquisition of Grant Broadcasters and settling the ATO matters.”
Child previously worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland (formerly ABN AMRO), dealing in a range of tax matters, including advising on transactions, products, governance and managing tax audits. Jeremy also consulted at tax firms, such as providing R&D advice with MJ&A and GST advice with PwC.
Child is a legal practitioner holding a BBus/LLB from UTS, an MSc from the Stockholm School of Economics, and an Associate of the Governance Institute of Australia.
In addition to Child’s promotion, further changes to the legal team have been made. These include senior legal counsel Justine Mitchell who will soon join ARN from Warner Music Australia, where she was business affairs manager, to provide a broad range of media law advice to the business, including iHeartRadio, podcasting and ARN’s broadcast radio operations.
Mitchell joins the existing legal team of Sarah Hook (senior legal counsel – ARN Regional) and Jessica O’Neill (legal counsel). ARN is also looking to recruit a further lawyer to its team.
Irene McMonnies, ARN’s director of legal & business affairs since 2019, is leaving ARN to join Screen Australia as their head of legal services and producer offset and co-production.
