Bachelor Australia creators shut down Shane Warne rumours

‘I love the fact that the brand has captured the nation’

The creators of The Bachelor Australia have shut down rumours that Shane Warne is tipped to star in the next season, after it was widely reported last month before being shut down by Warnie himself.

Asked how much truth there was to the rumours in a recent interview with Mediaweek, Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP) managing director Michael Brooks quickly replied, “Zero”.

WBITVP produces The Bachelor and The Bachelorette for Ten, Who Do You Think You Are? for SBS, and Little Big Shots and First Dates for Seven

Brooks did however use the rumours to illustrate how much of a sensation the format has become. “People expect to hear that sort of stuff with the brand. It is not a bad thing. I love the fact that the brand has captured the nation as it has done in a lot of different territories,” he said.

In 2018, the production house will be responsible for making the Australian edition of Bachelor In Paradise, which takes former Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants and puts them on an island where they once again embark on a journey to find true love.
