NRL Grand Final over 2.2m metro with Nine share close to 50%, new live streaming record

TV ratings: Nine

The NRL Grand Final on Nine saw a gritty Penrith triumph over South Sydney. The audience was 2,202,000 which was up on the 2,103,000 watching the Grand Final in the last week of October last year when Melbourne Storm were victors.
Nine’s winning metro primary channel share was 40.4% and the network share was 47.1%. Nine’s primary share in Sydney was 61.5% and in Brisbane 50.3%.
The NRL Post Game audience was 1,794,000 and the pre-game entertainment audience was 1,020,000.

TV ratings

Seven

Seven News was the best at 6pm with 1m watching the 60-minute bulletin as Nine went to the NRL Grand Final pre-game coverage at 6.30pm.
The 7pm episode of Homicide with Ron Iddles was on 492,000m followed by an episode of Border Security on 335,000.
Episode three of the excellent second series of Manhunt: The Night Stalker with Martin Clunes reprising his role was on 385,000.

The Sunday Project featured Hamish, Lisa, Tommy and Jan Fran hosting with 422,000 after 7pm.
The Masked Singer Unmasked was an extra episode going behind the scenes before the remaining two episodes this season tonight and tomorrow. The episode was on 380,000 up against the football.
It was all about the FBI for the rest of the night with episode one of season four of FBI on 221,000. Episode one of season three of FBI: Most Wanted was then on 220,000 and then most of that audience stayed on for the pilot episode of FBI International on 194,000.

ABC

The audience highlight was 385,000 watching the second episode of season four of Restoration Australia.
The second episode of Fires then followed with Miranda Otto and Richard Roxburgh as dairy farmers Kath and Duncan for the audience of 295,000.

SBS

Episode four of Inside Central Station had the biggest Total TV audience two weeks ago, and last night it was on 163,000.
The Truth About Anxiety followed with Celia Pacquola which found an audience of 161,000.
