• The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber equal Eminem and Pharrell Williams on the singles chart

Singles

The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber hit their twelfth week at #1 on the ARIA singles chart with Stay, equalling both Eminem’s Lose Yourself in December 2002 and Pharrell WilliamsHappy in March 2014. Only five singles have spent more time at #1 on the ARIA singles chart.

In its seventh week in the chart, the Elton John and Dua Lipa collaboration Cold Heart (Pnau Remix) moves up one spot to hit a new peak at #2. The new position equals Dua Lipa’s career singles chart peak, previously set with both New Rules and Don’t Start Now. It becomes Elton John’s outright second-highest charting single in the ARIA era (Jul. ’83-present), sitting only behind Candle in the Wind 1997 / Something About the Way You Look Tonight in September 1997.

Elton John’s best of album Diamonds, and Dua Lipa’s self titled album both celebrate 150 weeks in the album chart’s top 50 this week.

Debuting at #7, British band Coldplay and K-pop superstars BTS join forces for My Universe. The collaboration is set to appear on Coldplay’s ninth studio album Music of the Spheres, scheduled for release on October 15th. It becomes Coldplay’s second chart entry for 2021 after Higher Power hit #44 in May, and their first top ten since their collaboration with The Chainsmokers, Something Just Like This hit #2 in March 2017. For BTS, it’s their fifth career top ten and the third in 2021 after Butter and Permission To Dance both peaked at #6.

A week on from its debut at #23, Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah) by Nigerian singer/songwriter CKay moves up ten spots to hit #13. Last week, the track jumped from #23 to #9 in the UK.
