Back In Time For The Corner Shop tackles the 1950s and 60s

Overnight TV Ratings, March 21

Nine has won Tuesday night with a primary share of 27.3% and a network share of 34.7%. ABC Kids/ABC TV Plus tied with 7Two for the top multichannel with a 3.0% share.

Nine’s A Current Affair interviewed a cruise ship magician who was alleged attack during a show, and told 643,000 about a funeral director being investigated over the alleged theft of jewellery and clothing from a corpse. Homestays Week is notorious for making or breaking couples on Married At First Sight (MAFS), and this year’s season was no different. 893,000 watched as Bronte‘s sister fought with Harrison, and Melinda and Layton got into a major tiff over a cupboard door being left open. The Hundred with Andy Lee rounded out primetime for 417,000 viewers.

Leah returned to Summer Bay on Seven, with 494,000 tuning into Home and Away as Justin faced up to the consequences of his actions. We Interrupt This Broadcast then lightened the mood, bringing rapid fire sketch comedy to the lounge rooms of 279,000 viewers.

The ABC’s 7.30 looked into the evidence that Covid-19 originated in animals, and interviewed actor Rob Brydon for 439,000. There was trouble for the Ferrones on Back In Time For The Corner Shop, with 375,000 watching the family work through the 1950s and ’60s and keeping an out for what was over the horizon: supermarkets. 

On 10, The Project (276,000 7pm) looked at what Rupert Murdoch’s latest engagement means for the Murdoch empire, and wondered why Australia has ranked as the 12th happiest country in the world. The Dog House Australia worked to find a home for high-energy kelpie, Tess, and paired Lolla with tai chi instructor Amanda for 318,000.
