TV Ratings: Steve Smith delivers Nine’s Thursday ratings win

A one-day international clash between Australia and Pakistan has secured Nine its second win this week with a share of 22.5%. After three nights against the Big Bash League, this was the first time the Australian cricket team was up against Seven’s coverage of the Australian Open.

The cricket pulled the biggest audience with 952,000 watching the second session from Perth while there was an audience of 600,000 watching the Australian Open on Seven. The evening session included Serena Williams steamrollering an opponent on what is her journey to possibly winning grand slam #23.

Elsewhere two episodes of Modern Family on TEN each did just under 400,000 with two episodes of Law & Order: SVU both close to 300,000.

It was renovation night on the ABC with George Clarke‘s Restoration Man on 336,000 followed by Sibella Court‘s Restoration Australia on 328,000.

Railways ruled again on SBS where Michael Portillo‘s Great British Railway Journeys did 248,000.
