TV Guide: The Hundred with Andy Lee Christmas special on Nine and 9Now

The Hundred

• Find out what Australians really think about the most wonderful time of the year

The Hundred with Andy Lee will find out what Australians really think about the most wonderful time of the year – Christmas – Tuesday November 23 at 8.30pm on Channel Nine and 9Now

What is the average cost of a work Christmas party? How many of our Hundred don’t celebrate Christmas? What percentage still send handwritten Christmas cards? What is the average cost of a Christmas gift?

Andy Lee will be joined again by 100 everyday Aussies who Zoom into the studio from all over the continent to tell us what the nation is really thinking about the festive season.

What are the most popular Christmas songs? What percentage of people have woken up with regrets after a Christmas party?

Joining Andy will be regular panellist Mike Goldstein, plus Sophie Monk, Becky Lucas, and a special seasonal guest in the shape of a certain jolly man.

Earlier this year, Mediaweek spoke with Andy Lee, who said that while most shows are using Zoom out of necessity, The Hundred uses it as a centrepiece.

“You learn so much about someone just from their background or from their lounge room,” he said. “That’s what’s great about this, when people come on television normally, you see them on any game show, they dress up and put on their Sunday best, they get their hair and makeup done. It’s not really a representation of them in everyday life. We’ve found that how relaxed people are in their lounge room is just so great. I really do look at it as reverse Gogglebox, this is a bunch of TV presenters looking into people’s lounge rooms as opposed to vice versa. We had so many more surprises, very rarely do you have pets interrupting a studio chat.”
