Olympic gold medallist Tom Slingsby will return to defend his crown on home waters

The 2023 Australia SailGP returns to the iconic waters of Sydney Harbour this weekend (February 18-19) and fans can catch all the action live on Fox Sports, available on Foxtel and Kayo Sports.

The ninth event on the world series racing calendar will see Olympic gold medallist Tom Slingsby return to defend his crown on home waters.

Slingsby will lead the Australian team who will be up against the likes of Denmark, France, Great Britain, Japan, New Zealand, Spain, the United States, Canada and Switzerland. Days one and two of the GP will be live broadcast from 4pm.

Foxtel Group Chief Executive Officer Patrick Delany said: “There is nothing more thrilling than the SailGP on Sydney Harbour. Foxtel and Kayo Sports are home to over 50 sports and will be broadcasting the SailGP global series to its close to 3 million sports subscribers.

The Australian SailGP event is also available on Kayo Freebies. This can be accessed by downloading the Kayo Sports app or visiting the Kayo Freebies website.

Earlier this month, News Corp released its Fiscal 2023 Second Quarter Earnings (Q2 FY23) for the period ending 31 December 2022, including subscriber highlights for the Foxtel Group and financial results for the Subscription Video Services segment.

Commenting on the Foxtel Group at News Corp’s Q2 FY23 Investor Briefing this morning, News Corp Chief Executive Robert Thomson said: “I am particularly proud to highlight the continuing revival of Foxtel’s fortunes under the sage leadership of Patrick and Siobhan and the team, who have increased profitability and thus optionality.”
