Stan Sport secures rights to the Laver Cup, beginning September 25th

Stan has announced it has secured the rights to the Laver Cup, a men’s tennis competition between a superstar team from Europe against the best players from the rest of the world. Under the multi-year agreement, Stan will exclusively broadcast the fourth edition of the tournament which begins on September 25.

The 2021 Laver Cup will feature two tennis icons leading both teams, with Björn Borg Team Europe’s captain and John McEnroe in charge of Team World.

Confirmed to take part in the tournament for Team Europe include: Daniil Medvedev (World No. 2, Russia), Stefanos Tsitspas (World No. 3, Greece), Alexander Zverev (World No. 4, Germany), Andrey Rublev (World No. 7, Russia), Matteo Berrettini (World No. 8, Italy) and Casper Ruud (World No. 11, Norway).

Team World, who will be aiming to win the Cup for the first time ever, will feature Nick Kyrgios (World No. 86, Australia), Denis Shapovalov (World No. 10, Canada), Diego Schwartzman (World No. 14, Argentina), Felix Auger-Aliassime (World No. 15, Canada), John Isner (World No. 22, USA) and Reilly Opelka (World No. 24, USA). 

Team World representative Nick Kyrgios said: “The Laver Cup is my favourite week of the year and I just love being part of the team. It’s going to be unreal playing at TD Garden, home of the Celtics. Boston fans love their sport, so if we can win the Laver Cup anywhere, then TD Garden and Boston, one of the greatest sports cities in the world is the place to do it.”
