My Kitchen Rules and the AFL keep Twitter talking

The fight to make the season 7 semifinals of My Kitchen Rules last week – which led to last night’s dramatic grand final – had Twitter talking, making three of the top five spots on the Nielsen Twitter TV Ratings. Last Wednesday’s ep saw 1.2k people sending out 4.5k tweets. This week’s top two spots were held by the ABC’s Q&A and Insiders.

In sport, Hawthorn’s third successive close win – this time over Adelaide – was also a winner on social media. 5.5k authors tweeted about the game 14.0k times.
