Stan Sport has announced their summer schedule kicking off with exclusive coverage of this week’s Mubadala World Tennis Championship. Stan Sport will also showcase all the action from the ATP Cup (Sydney, January 1 – 9), Adelaide International (January 2 – 15), Melbourne Summer Events and the Sydney Tennis Classic (January 9 – 15) in the lead up to the Australian Open.

The Mubadala World Tennis Championship begins this Thursday 16 December, and features eight of the world’s best players, including Russian Andrey Rublev (World No. 5), twenty time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal (World No. 6, Spain), up and comer Casper Ruud (World No. 8, Norway), former US Open winner Dominic Thiem (World No. 15, Austria), 2021 Wimbledon semi-finalist Denis Shapovalov (World No. 14, Canada) and three-time Grand Slam winner Andy Murray (World No. 134, GBR). On the women’s side, surprise 2021 US Open winner Emma Raducanu (World No. 19, GBR) and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Gold medallist Belinda Bencic (World No. 23, Switzerland) will also be in action as they prepare for the Australian Open. Every match from the Mubadala Championship will be available to stream ad-free, live and exclusive on Stan Sport beginning Thursday 16 December.

The schedule includes a number of Australian Open lead-up events, starting with the ATP Cup set to be played in Sydney on January 1 – 9, followed by the Sydney Tennis Classic from January 9 – 15. The Adelaide International will be played over two back-to-back events from January 2 – 15, while Melbourne will host WTA250 (women’s) and ATP250 (men’s) Summer Events from January 3 – 9.

The Australian Open will also once again return to Nine’s Wide World of Sports featuring highlight matches and coverage of the Festival of Tennis in 2022 with extensive coverage across the Nine Network and all matches live on 9Now.

Having recently secured rights to the US Open, the Australian Open is the final piece in Stan Sport’s Grand Slam Tennis coverage following the success of Roland Garros and Wimbledon earlier this year. Stan Sport will bring viewers live action from every court across the fourteen days of competition with full match replays, mini matches and extended highlights all available on-demand for all matches.

The announcement kicks off a summer of sport on Stan with Super Rugby Pacific, UEFA Champions League knockout phases and further announcements to be made in the coming weeks.

Stan acting chief executive officer Martin Kugeler said: “We are very much looking forward to a fantastic summer of sport on Stan. Tennis fans can watch some of the best players including Rafael Nadal at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship this week, followed by every match of the ATP Cup as well as the other Australian tournaments in early January and finishing off with the highlight of the summer, the Australian Open on Stan Sport.”
