Married at First Sight ‘husband’ arrested on rape allegations

Authorities have told the BBC that the arrest “relates to an ongoing investigation, being led by the Met Police.”

A cast member from Married at First Sight UK has been arrested on rape allegations, the BBC reports.

The individual has not been named, nor has the alleged victim.

In May, a BBC Panorama investigation revealed rape allegations from two female cast members, while a third woman alleged a non-consensual sex act.

In response to the investigation, the Metropolitan Police encouraged “anyone who believes they have been a victim of sexual assault” after participating on MAFS UK to contact them.

The police have now told the BBC that the arrest “relates to an ongoing investigation, being led by the Met Police.”

They added that the man arrested “has since been bailed while enquiries remain ongoing.”
