Maggie in Japan will be produced by Lingo Pictures and screen on LifeStyle FOOD in 2017.
Foxtel has commissioned a new local production featuring The Great Australian Bake Off judge Maggie Beer. The one-hour special called Maggie in Japan will be screened on Foxtel’s LifeStyle FOOD in 2017.
Maggie in Japan will follow Beer as she travels to Japan to explore and experience the essence of Japanese cuisine and some of the unique cooking techniques found across the country.
Beer has a fascination for the culture and ingredients of Japan and so, with the help of both traditional chefs and the new wave, she’ll immerse herself in the local food and lives of her culinary guides.
The general manager of The LifeStyle Channels, Hannah Barnes, said: “Maggie has gained a whole new raft of fans following the huge success of The Great Australian Bake Off and we are thrilled to extend our relationship with her with this unique new one hour special.
“Maggie in Japan is a perfect addition to the LifeStyle FOOD programming lineup, and will give our loyal audience an insight into Maggie’s passion for food.”
Maggie Beer said: “I have had some of the greatest food experiences of my life in Japan. I am fascinated by every part of their food culture where there is such pride in every person in the cycle of food at every level. It’s a truly passionate endeavour for me to discover even more and be able to share this excitement with everyone.”
Maggie in Japan joins a growing lineup of quality local productions on LifeStyle FOOD, including The Great Australian Bake Off and Donna Hay: Basics to Brilliance.
Beer will travel to Japan later this year to film the special being produced by Lingo Pictures exclusively for Foxtel.
