The latest appointments span business journalism, lifestyle and video production.

Forbes Australia has expanded its editorial and video production team with a series of new appointments across its newsroom and content division.

The publisher announced that Daniel Van Boom will join as Business Journalist from Capital Brief; Liam McKeown has been appointed Head of Video from SBS; Johanna Leggett will join as Editorial Lead, Contributors & Lists; Randy Lai joins the Forbes Life team as Lifestyle Journalist; and Sue Williams has been appointed freelance features writer.

The appointments come as Forbes Australia said its magazine readership has reached more than 450,000 readers nationally each month across its print and digital platforms.

Focus on editorial and video growth

Forbes Australia said the hires reflect continued investment in journalism, video content, lists and lifestyle coverage as the business expands nationally.

Sarah O’Carroll, Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Australia, said the appointments marked the next stage of growth for the business.

“Over the past three years, Forbes Australia has built a highly engaged audience around ambition, leadership, wealth creation and innovation. As we continue to grow, we’re investing further in the areas our audience is increasingly drawn to – premium lifestyle journalism, influential lists, distinctive storytelling and high-quality video content.

“These appointments bring outstanding editorial and creative talent into the business at a pivotal moment for the brand. Each of them understands how modern audiences consume media – whether through sharp reporting or compelling visual storytelling – and they will play an important role in shaping the next chapter of Forbes Australia.”

Audience and events expansion

The newsroom growth follows a broader expansion across Forbes Australia’s events and membership business, including the sold-out Forbes Women’s Summit featuring former NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and media personality Megan Gale.

The company also reported 21.6% year-on-year growth in print readership, alongside growth across its digital and social audiences.
