KATE VALE
Managing Director, Spotify ANZ

Kate Vale portraitAustralia is the sixth-largest music market in the world and Vale is the head of the local operations of the streaming music giant. Working as a part of the international company, Vale’s local team works across marketing, PR and comms, business development, ad sales, and label relations. Vale takes a hands-on approach in developing partnerships with brands and agencies as they find new ways to access the Spotify platform. On track to reach 100 million users across the globe by the year’s end, up 25 million since June, Spotify has benefited greatly from the increased attention in the category. Vale advised Mediaweek: “We don’t disclose our numbers locally, but there are a number of third parties who report data in Australia, like comScore and Nielsen. According to all of them, we’re the fastest-growing and largest in market.”
