Woolworths has launched ‘Summer of Cricket’ featuring Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey as its newest brand ambassador.
The campaign captures the excitement of summer and reinforces Woolworths’ long-term commitment to the sport as the Official Fresh Food Partner of Cricket Australia.
The 30-second spot, created by M&C Saatchi, features Woolworths Cricket Blast participants to highlight the pathway for emerging players.
Woolworths recently renewed its partnership with Cricket Australia to stay as naming rights sponsor of the Cricket Blast program, which helps hundreds of thousands of kids get active and build a lifelong love of the sport.
Sarah De La Mare, head of community and sponsorships at Woolworths, said the company is excited to partner with Carey to celebrate the big summer of cricket ahead.
“Not only is he an Aussie wicket keeping legend, but he’s also a cricket dad to Louis and Clementine who both play Woolworths Cricket Blast,” she said.
“It’s the full circle of cricket, and allows us to demonstrate how we support cricket from the grassroots right through to the Australian men’s and women’s teams.”
