Will & Woody, from KIIS national network’s drive show, are encouraging Australians to share a meal and genuinely connect with the people in their life in a new initiative called Share My Food.

The campaign is an extension of the Share My Mood app that Will & Woody launched last year, aimed at encouraging us all to speak more openly about mental health.

Will McMahon said: “Too often we see our relationships as simply acquaintances.  Share My Food is about sitting down and sharing a meal, while recognising and ultimately enjoying the intimacy and support that is already there, but to which we are so often closed off.”

As part of the campaign, Will & Woody are encouraging listeners to get together with friends and family on Thursday June 9 to host their own Share My Food experience in order to create better connections. Listeners taking part in the Share My Food initiative are being asked to share their experience on Instagram using #sharemyfood

Will & Woody will be sharing their meal and taking time to connect with Laura Byrne and Britt Hockley from the award-winning Life Uncut podcast and KIIS Network’s Life Uncut Radio Show.  Head to @willandwoody on Instagram and Facebook for coverage, and follow on air on KIIS FM from 4-6pm.

Share My Food follows on from the Share My Mood app, which launched in May last year. The app is the brainchild of Will McMahon, who has lived with depression for most of his adult life and knows first-hand that conversations about mental health are important but can also be tough.  Share My Mood is a simple to use app to help people communicate their mood without actually needing to say anything.

Share My Food is being supported by Butter Fish Services, a behaviour therapy and support service for adults, teenagers and children.
