3m again: Dogs win another AFL blowout, Souths and Easts win closer NRL finals

Saturday TV ratings show a combined evening football audience close to the 3m+ watching on Friday night. Another consecutive AFL blowout, but two much closer NRL contests were on offer. The AFL on Saturday night had a combined FTA and STV audience of 1,564,000 with the NRL on 1,235,000. That total Saturday night football audience was 2,799,000 with the streaming audience pushing that number close to 3m.

Seven

Seven News saw the audience push just above 1m to start primetime.

Seven then had an audience of 920,000 for the Western Bulldogs v Port Adelaide Preliminary Final. The match was all but over in the second quarter when the home team showed it was not able to close the quarter time gap.

The Melbourne audience was 535,000 with 164,000 watching in Adelaide. This number would have been higher for a close contest.

Nine
