Skyfall attracts Bond fans to Nine, Bert funeral draws 750,000+

Total TV Friday November 5

The biggest percentage rise for a commercial TV program was the encore screening of Have You Been Paying Attention? with the overnight TV ratings audience lifting 15%. The Total TV number wasn’t the biggest for the night though, with 270,000 ranking the program at #28 for the day.
Nine’s Taronga Who’s Who in the Zoo and the movie Casino Royale were both up 6%. Seven’s Better Homes and Gardens was up 5%.
The biggest movers again though overall were the ABC’s Gardening Australia (862,000 after 479,000 metro overnight) and Annika (762,000 from 429,000 metro overnight).

Better Homes and Gardens won its timeslot with 472,000.
Seven’s movie Little Women was on 219,000, well behind the James Bond offering on Nine.

Nine

Nine News was a winner in Sydney and Melbourne, yet trailed Seven across the network.
The Friday edition of A Current Affair was on 546,000.
The hour of Taronga Who’s Who in the Zoo trailed both gardening and lifestyle shows on offer at Seven and the ABC.
Nine’s key to the Friday victory was the programming of a recent James Bond classic in a big week for the franchise. Skyfall was the movie with 370,000 watching.

10

The channel’s best were both just on 270,000 – 10 News First at 5pm and then an episode of The Graham Norton Show at 7.30pm.
The Project is finding it a challenge to attract a bigger Friday crowd with 253,000 at 7pm.

ABC

Gardening Australia slipped below Better Homes and Gardens in average audience, with 461,000 watching Costa and his crew.
The Scottish crime drama Annika was then just under 400,000.

SBS

Blitz Spirit with Lucy Worsley didn’t attract the crowd some might have expected with 70,000 watching after 8.30pm. The program investigated life in London during World War II through the memories of people who chronicled their experiences.
Earlier in the night Legends of the Pharaohs was on 124,000.
