TV ratings November 25, 2022: Wales v Iran primetime clash a winner for SBS

Seven News Friday champ, Final Living Room ep (ever?), First ACA post TG

The penultimate night of the TV ratings survey year for 2022 threw up a number of fascinating stats.

Seven was the primary champion and also had the biggest network share. Doing the heavy lifting for Seven was Seven News with both halves of the hour over 700,000. Later in the night an audience of 341,000 chose Better Homes & Gardens and got some Xmas shopping tips amongst the other offerings.

Nine saw the first post-TG (Tracy Grimshaw) episode of A Current Affair, Hosted by Deborah Knight, the Friday episode had an audience of 493,000, winning the timeslot thanks to metro market wins in Melbourne and Brisbane. Later in the night Taronga: Who’s Who in the Zoo was on 286,000.

10’s highlight was the final episode of The Living Room. The show’s future is uncertain after 11 years. Santa made a visit to the show with an audience of 257,000 watching.

Best for the ABC was the 7pm news just under half a million. Gardening Australia had the biggest average audience at 7.30pm with 381,000. After a short season of just eight episodes, Frankly broadcast its season final. The audience of 310,000 saw host Fran Kelly speaking with actor Richard E Grant, comedian and radio host Joel Creasey, plus musical duo Vika and Linda Bull.

SBS managed to attract the biggest non-news crowd with its primetime coverage of Wales v Iran with 399,000 watching the clash from the World Cup in Qatar.
