Nine‘s NRL coverage last night brought in an average of 410,000 viewers across its primary channel and 9Gem as the Penrith Panthers knocked off the Melbourne Storm. This was down slightly on last week’s average of 425,000 viewers.

The match had 223,000 Sydney viewers, and 135,000 tune in from Brisbane making it the top non-news program in both markets.

PM Scott Morrison fronted Tracy Grimshaw on A Current Affair where he finally faced some TV tough questioning. The show was just under 500,000 as it screened on Gem in Brisbane.

Seven

Seven won its first night of the week thanks to a strong showing from the AFL’s Carlton v Collingwood match, with the broadcaster having a primary share of 21.1% and a network share of 31.1%.

The match had 522,000 viewers across Seven and 7mate. The match was #1 in Melbourne with 345,000 and the top non-news show in Adelaide with 72,000.

This week’s AFL match was down on last week’s season opener which brought in 668,000.

7TWO was the top multichannel with 3.9% thanks to a triple-header of Murdoch Mysteries.

On 10, Gogglebox was the top entertainment show of the night with 509,000 viewers, which was up on last week’s 483,000.

Gogglebox was preceded by Bondi Rescue (308,000) and Territory Cops (310,000).

The Project had 247,000 (6:30 pm) and 367,000 (7:00 pm) tune in as the show covered Brittany Higgins’ formal complaint to the PM’s office, Aussies with solar power being charged for sharing their power, and Shaka Cook spoke about Hamilton.

ABC

Back Roads had 428,000 viewers last night as the program returned to Mallacoota. This episode was up on last weeks 401,000.

Q+A had 237,000 watch as Stan Grant, Bruce Pascoe and Thomas Piketty joined the panel to talk about how the west must now adapt to a world it no longer dominates. This was slightly up on last weeks 232,000.

SBS

The top show on SBS last night was Diagnosis Detectives with 167,000.
