Seven TV Ratings

The top non-news program on Seven last night was Home and Away which aired three back to back episodes with an average of 561,000 for the first two episodes and 519,000 for the later one.

The Front Bar had 388,000 as it celebrated the career of journalist Mike Sheahan who first worked in newspapers 50 years ago. Appearing on crutches after a recent knee reconstruction, Mick Molloy‘s first question was “why do you hate Richmond so much”.  Guest-hosting last night was Andy Lee in for Sam Pang, just days after Lee revealed his return to Nine in a new primetime series.

Nine TV Ratings

A Current Affair started with something it rarely does – an interview with a politician. But it was a big day for vaccination news and the Thursday episode saw host Tracy Grimshaw speaking with health minister Greg Hunt. The episode brought in 720,000 viewers.

Nine’s NRL coverage followed with 334,000 watching as the Brisbane Broncos were easily defeated by Wayne Bennet and the South Sydney Rabbitohs’. The game was the top non-news program in both Sydney (178,000) and Brisbane (127,000).

The Project had 253,000 (6:30pm) and 416,000 (7pm) as the show covered the changing expert advice on vaccine rollouts and spoke to Kate Miller-Heidke.

MasterChef was the top non-news program last night with 578,000 viewers as Depinder, Justin, Pete and Tommy attempted to cook their way into the top 10. In the first round of the immunity challenge, they had to use a packet of two-minute noodles, but, they couldn’t use the noodles as they were intended.

Justin and  Depinder then cooked off in the second round after being tasked with using a common pantry item and use it in an unconventional way.

Justin’s coke ice cream eventually outpointed Depinder’s sriracha ice-cream with coriander granita due to her issues using garlic.

ABC TV Ratings

ABC’s 7.30 had 515,000 as it covered the latest AstraZeneca update too, with the busy Dr Norman Swan on the show.

The ABC’s new current affairs pairing continued last night as Foreign Affairs continues its upwards trend improving its ratings week on week with 429,000 up on the 400,000 last week after launching with  360,000 three weeks ago. This is seeing the show edge closer to the 434,000 that the show had in its final episode in its Tuesday night slot.

Q+A also had a good night with over 300,000 which has been rare on Thursday nights. The episode was live from Melbourne with guest host David Speers.

SBS TV Ratings

The final episode of the three-part Robson Green: Walking Hadrian’s Wall at 7.30pm saw the host complete his journey as he reached the west coast of northern England in front of 202,000 viewers.
