• Seven tops the night with The Blues taking on The Cats

Total TV Ratings: July 9

It’s been a big week for drama on the public broadcaster. ABC’s The Good Karma Hospital rose 14% for a total audience of 605,000, while The Split brought in a crowd of 398,000, lifting 22%. Mystery Road: Origin pulled in the biggest total TV lift, rising 108% for an audience of 248,000.

Topping the night in non-news for Nine was the second Wallabies V England, which saw England dominate with a 25-17 win over the Wallabies, taking the three-match series to a decider. The match rose 1%, with 615,000 tuning in.

Seven’s top non-news program was Saturday night AFL. Port Adelaide kept their finals hopes alive with a 55-point win over GWS, lifting 1% for an audience of 519,000.

The Dog House topped the night for 10 with 384,000 tuning in, a lift of 8%.

Overnight TV Ratings: July 16

Seven has won the night with a primary share of 20.7% and a network share of 30.3%. 7Mate has come out on top for multichannels with a 5.5% share.

Seven aired the AFL, with The Blues taking on The Cats. Ultimately Geelong outmuscled Carlton, with 401,000 watching as the Blues took the victory 85-55. Of those 401,000 viewers, 206,000 came from Melbourne, making it the most watched non-news show of the night there – second only to Seven News, which had a Melbourne audience of 207,000.

On Nine, A Current Affair covered the Kokoda Track campaign’s anniversary and the outbreak of foot and mouth disease in Bali for 403,000 viewers. The decider between the Wallabies and England then brought in 445,000, as England took the win, coming from behind to seal the deal 21-17. The match was the most watched show in Sydney, with 196,000 tuning in from the harbour city.

10 aired back to back episodes of The Dog House, including a new episode that featured Saluki puppy Harry and Tia the ex-breeding spaniel. 198,000 tuned in to the first episode, and 210,000 tuned in to the second.

On the ABC, The Good Karma Hospital drew a crowd of 358,000 before The Split had 214,000 tune in.

The highest rating show on SBS was The World’s Most Scenic Railway Journeys which had 122,000 tune in.

STV Ratings: July 16

Super Saturday has taken the top two spots (269,000 / 212,000), with the first two slots of the day going to the Fox Footy show. 

The Titans taking on the Broncos performed best for Fox League, with 211,000 tuning in to the Queensland face off, with the Broncos taking the win 16-12. 

207,000 watched as North Melbourne took on Richmond in the AFL, with the Kangaroos just scraping in the win 92-88.

Back in NSW for Fox League, the Sea Eagles faced off with the Knights. Manly flew away with the win, defeating Newcastle 42-12 in front of 190,000 viewers.
