Taking out the top spot on all four charts for a second week is Ted Lasso, coming off the back of the show’s big win at the Emmys. Ted Lasso took home some big wins including Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Jason Sudeikis and Best Comedy Series.

This year The Crown and The Mandalorian tied for the top spot for program Emmy Awards nominations with 24 followed by WandaVision (23), The Handmaid’s Tale (21), Saturday Night Live (21), Ted Lasso (20), Lovecraft Country (18), The Queen’s Gambit (18) and Mare of Easttown (16).

Ted Lasso from Apple TV+ was the biggest-winning comedy overall, but other shows picking up multiple wins were Mare of Easttown, Hacks and The Queen’s Gambit.

This week Ted Lasso scored 28.67 points above market average in Australia and 19.15 in New Zealand.

In Australia, Netflix’s smash hit Korean drama Squid Game surges up the charts, coming in second on the Digital Original chart and fourth overall on its first week in the top 10.

In the series 456 desperate contestants compete with each other in a mysterious and deadly survival game involving multiple rounds of childhood games to win 45.6 billion Korean won in prize money that can pull them out of their misery.

Netflix head of content and co-CEO Ted Sarandos has revealed that Squid Game is the streaming platform’s #1 show globally. He also noted that at the current rate it should eventually become the most-watched Netflix series of all time.

This week Squid Game scored 20.8 points above market average in Australia but didn’t make the top 10 in either New Zealand chart.
