triple j reshuffles breakfast and drive line-up from July

Abby & Tyrone step into Breakfast, Concetta exits and Luka Muller moves to afternoons.

triple j will roll out a new on-air line-up across Breakfast and Drive from July, with Abby & Tyrone set to take over mornings and Luka Muller moving to afternoons.

The changes follow the departure of current Breakfast co-host Concetta Caristo, who will wrap up with the station at the end of June after three years.

Abby & Tyrone move to Breakfast

Abby & Tyrone will shift from Drive into the Breakfast slot, having built a strong audience since joining afternoons in late 2023.

During that time, the pair have hosted key tentpole moments for the station, including the Hottest 100, Mardi Gras coverage and national broadcasts such as One Night Stand, alongside regular appearances at major music festivals.

Abby said: “Brb letting my 14-year-old self know her dreams have come true. She’s currently too busy calling into triple j to try and win San Cisco’s bongos from their Like A Version (true story!), but it’s safe to say she’ll be stoked.”

Tyrone added: “Girl… imma need a louder alarm.”

Concetta Caristo to exit

Caristo’s departure marks the end of a high-profile run on Breakfast, where she has co-hosted alongside Muller and fronted a range of key segments and events.

Across her time with the station, she has hosted multiple Hottest 100 countdowns, presented Like A Version, and appeared across major cultural broadcasts, including the ARIA Awards and ABC’s New Year’s Eve coverage.

She said: “As a girl known for having one million feelings in every moment, it is criminal to be asked to sum up my time at triple j in a sentence. Spending my mornings laughing and talking to so many people around the country has been a genuine privilege and joy in my life. I’m going to cherish the memories forever.”

Luka Muller shifts to Drive

Muller will move from Breakfast to Drive, with a new co-host yet to be announced.

He joined the Breakfast team in late 2024 during a milestone period for the station, including its 50th anniversary, multiple editions of One Night Stand, and several Hottest 100 broadcasts.

Muller said: “I’m so proud of everything Concetta and I got to do on Breakfast and feel so very lucky to have shared it all with someone so kind, talented, fun, and silly as Chet. Stepping into Drive is gonna be so much fun. I’m excited to meet new listeners, I’m excited for everyone to see what we’ve been cooking up, and I’m excited to turn off the 4am alarm.”

Transition timeline

Caristo and Muller will wrap up on Breakfast on Friday 26 June.

Abby & Tyrone will take over the Breakfast slot from July, with Muller launching the new Drive show alongside a yet-to-be-announced co-host.
