Twenty employers were ranked in the list.

LinkedIn has named CommBank as Australia’s top company for 2026, with its annual list ranking the best workplaces for professionals to grow their careers.

The 2026 Top Companies list ranks 20 Australian employers based on LinkedIn data, including career progression, skills growth, company stability and workforce presence in Australia.

CommBank took out the top spot, followed by ServiceNow and SAP. Telstra and Infosys rounded out the top five.

Career growth shifts beyond tenure

LinkedIn said this year’s list reflects a broader change in how professionals define career growth.

Rather than focusing only on job tenure, workers are increasingly looking for employers that offer clear pathways for skills development and internal mobility.

Brendan Wong, LinkedIn career expert, said the list showed how expectations of work had changed over the past decade.

“After 10 years of LinkedIn’s Top Companies list, what stands out is how much the idea of a ‘good job’ has evolved. Today, Aussies are looking beyond job titles and salary to understand where they can build skills, stay relevant and continue progressing over time,” Wong said.

“Across industries, the employers leading the way are those giving their people opportunities to keep learning, adapt to change and progress over time. In a job market that continues to evolve quickly, the focus on skills is becoming essential for long-term career growth.”

Skills development leads workplace rankings

LinkedIn said sustained investment in skills growth had become a defining factor among leading employers.

The company also said 90 per cent of chief people officers in Australia expect work to be organised around skills rather than traditional job titles as jobs continue to evolve.

Kiersten Robinson, CommBank chief people officer, said: “We’re proud to be recognised in LinkedIn’s 2026 Top Companies list. For CommBank, this ranking is a reflection of our people and the workplace they shape every day – one where they can grow their careers, build new skills and shape what’s next for our customers, communities and each other.”

“At ServiceNow, we’re building something special. And we firmly believe it’s a workplace where everyone can be themselves and do the best work of their careers,” Caffey said.

“As one of Australia’s fastest-growing technology companies, we’re intentional about creating a place where brilliant people from all walks of life can flourish. We’re about helping them build long-term careers and providing the balance they need to enjoy a full life inside and outside of work.”

Canva and Telstra recognised

Jennie Rogerson, chief people officer at Canva, said the company’s ranking reflected its focus on culture and employee growth.

“We couldn’t be prouder of our team at Canva. We grow as a company because our people grow, and at the heart of that is a team of creative problem-solvers who care deeply about making design delightful for millions of people, and building an equally meaningful culture along the way,” Rogerson said.

“Being named a LinkedIn Top Company reflects what we’ve always tried to build: a place where being goals and values-driven creates meaningful impact for our community, and something people are genuinely proud to be part of.”

Kathryn van der Merwe, group executive of people, culture and capability at Telstra, said the telco welcomed its inclusion on the list.

“We’re thrilled to make the LinkedIn Top Companies list once again and appreciate the acknowledgement of our continued investment in our people. We pride ourselves on creating an environment where our people feel valued and supported to do their best for our customers, grow, develop, and thrive,” van der Merwe said.

How LinkedIn ranks companies

LinkedIn’s Top Companies list uses LinkedIn data to rank companies across eight pillars linked to career progression.

Those pillars are the ability to advance, skills growth, company stability, external opportunity, company affinity, gender diversity, educational background and employee presence in the country.

LinkedIn said the list is powered by data analysis of the career paths of millions of professionals.
