The Green Power Players list reveals the top 100 people bringing positive environmental change for Australia’s future

The Australian has published its second annual edition of The List: Australia’s Green Power Players 2023.

Showcasing and celebrating the people, practices and policies driving significant sustainability change, the Green Power Players list reveals the top 100 innovators, developers, financiers, policymakers and activists who are bringing about positive environmental change and paving a path to a carbon-neutral future for Australia.

From the pioneers who have spent decades advocating for meaningful climate action to the rising stars making a real impact on how climate change is addressed at a parliamentary level, the Green Power Players list reveals the depth of talent and knowledge fuelling Australia’s green future.

The Australian’s Business editor, Perry Williams, has overseen the editorial development of the list, working closely with each green power player to tell their story.

Williams said: “Looking at the list, you can see positive impacts on sustainability and climate change can come from any and all areas. It’s also a reminder that organisations and governments have the greatest potential to enact change, so continuing to hold these powers to account will be for the greater good.”

“Keeping an eye on these key players across the identified areas is an exciting prospect and I personally look forward to following their advancements in the future.”

The List: Australia’s Green Power Players has again been curated by an eminent advisory panel assembled by The Australian to debate the top candidates for inclusion.

The panel includes Simon Currie, Energy Estate founder and Clean Energy/Hydrogen expert; Charles Davis, managing director, head of sustainable finance and ESG, Commonwealth Bank; Sally Torgoman, partner, KPMG Australia; and Zoe Whitton, managing director and head of impact, Pollination.

The Green Power Players list will be published as a gloss large format magazine, available with The Australian today, and online, featuring cover art by acclaimed international artist Charles Young.

Edinburgh-based Young is famous for designing paper structures of cities, to add to his ‘Paperholm’ project, launched in 2014. Young has constructed a model of the city of Sydney entirely out of paper, a striking image of which features as the front cover of The List: Australia’s Green Power Players.

The issue is supported by key advertisers including Commonwealth Bank, KPMG, Audi, Tiffany & Co, Jaguar Land Rover, Polestar, VISY, Karmo and Rolex.
