1116 SEN signs Australian cricketer turned broadcaster Simon O’Donnell

O’Donnell will weigh in on cricket across the summer

1116 SEN has signed former Australian cricketer and broadcasting veteran Simon O’Donnell, who will join the stable of talent on 1116 SEN ahead the 2017/18 cricket season.

O’Donnell, who represented Australia in cricket between 1985 and 1991, and was voted International Cricketer of the Year 1990/91, will weigh in on cricket across the summer and share his expert opinion and commentary.

O’Donnell will take to the airwaves from November as a regular guest across all 1116 SEN shows including co-hosting Summer Crunchtime on Saturdays, a weekly one-hour spot with Garry Lyon and Tim Watson on SEN Breakfast, and join a number of live sports panel shows across summer. He will also appear regularly across all programs during the Test period.

General manager of Radio at 1116 SEN Cathy Thomas said that Simon O’Donnell’s expertise in the game of cricket and his passion and inside knowledge of other sports will be a great addition for the 1116 SEN audience.

“Simon has developed his audience strongly over the last few decades of his career in the media and we believe he will be a perfect fit for the listeners of 1116 SEN,” said Thomas.

Just last week SEN 1116 announced Triple M’s Jay Mueller will join the business as group content director of broadcast and digital next February.
