Athletics Australia and The Seven Network have announced a three-year streaming deal, commencing with the Australian Track and Field Championships this month, live on 7plus.

Athletics is one of Australia’s most loved sports, with Australian track and field athletes featuring in six of the top 10 events on Seven during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games last year.

Seven will be broadcasting the next three editions of the Australian Track and Field Championships.

Seven Melbourne managing director and head of network sport, Lewis Martin, said: “We are very happy to extend our sports offering to include Australian athletics throughout the next three seasons on Seven, Your Home of Sport.

“During the Tokyo Olympics, we saw just how much Australians love getting behind our track and field athletes, and we cannot wait to deliver the excitement, the passion and the pure elation of our Aussie athletes, straight into living rooms across the country. All the action is just one click away on your smart TV, mobile, tablet or computer.”

Seven’s broadcast of the Australian Track and Field Championships will begin with the first session of the Championships at 2.00pm AEDT on 26 March, live on 7plus.

Earlier this week, Seven West Media announced key new senior sales leadership appointments as part of its ongoing strategy to deliver national total video trading for commercial partners and brands.

Greg Gabel, Natalie Harvey, Nicole Bence, Kurt Burnette, and Dave Walker will be reporting to chief revenue officer, Kurt Burnette, the company’s new appointments follow the recent acquisition of Prime Media Group, which has created Australia’s first wholly-owned national television and digital group.
