Screen Australia has launched its new website, which has been re-designed to better promote, celebrate and support the work of Australia’s screen industry. The site includes a new consumer-facing platform called The Screen Guide that enables lovers of Australian film and television to discover and access fantastic Australian content.

The Screen Guide offers a new home for information about individual Australian films and TV shows (not just those funded by Screen Australia). At the time of launch, the platform holds information on 15,185 titles going back to 1970 – including cast and creatives, awards and festival inclusions, sales agent details, Screen Australia funding categories, galleries of images and trailers. Over time this will also grow to include links to stories held on The Screen Blog, and other related content.

Another feature of The Screen Guide is that it will also provide an easy way to find content on streaming platforms, facilitated through a partnership with Australian app called Gyde. The platforms that will be connected to The Screen Guide via Gyde are: Stan, iTunes, Netflix, FetchTV, Presto, Beamafilm, Dendy Direct, SBS Movies, Bigpond on Demand (with Ozflix soon to come).

Working closely with filmmakers and the NFSA to source images, trailers and information from titles that stretch back to the early days of the Australian film industry, Screen Australia is building a digital resource that will be invaluable to the nation’s cultural identity, heritage and future.

“It’s great to be able to go live with our new website and The Screen Guide,” said Graeme Mason, CEO of Screen Australia. “We’ve created something that will make it easier for filmmakers and consumers alike, to connect with us and with our rich screen culture.”

Screen Australia now has a complete suite of digital offerings.
