Peter Cornelius has announced he will step down as managing director of ANZ operations of Ebiquity plc after seven years with the company.

Cornelius joined Ebiquity in 2015 as the head of Media Practice and was promoted to the MD role in 2018.

During his time with Ebiquity, he has been credited with playing a significant role in the successful development of the Australian office, helping it become a clear market leader in the media consultancy space.

Leela Nair, managing director of Ebiquity Asia Pacific, will assume local management responsibilities while the consultancy seeks a permanent replacement.

Nair said of Cornelius’ departure: “Peter has played a vital role at Ebiquity ANZ since joining in 2015, and we greatly appreciate his achievements, commitment, and efforts. He will be missed.”

Cornelius said of his time at Ebiquity: “I am extremely proud of what our team have accomplished together in these last seven years.

“From my perspective, having worked in the industry for over 40 years, it has been an amazing ride, but it is now time for me take it a bit easier and embark on new adventures. I wish Ebiquity continued success in the years ahead.”

Ebiquity plc harnesses the power of data to provide independent, fact-based advice, enabling brand owners to perfect media investment decisions and improve business outcomes.

The company is a data-driven solution company that aims to help brand owners drive efficiency and effectiveness from their media spend, eliminating wastage and creating value.

Back in 2019, Ebiquity’s global president Richard Basil-Jones spoke to Mediaweek and shared his thoughts on international markets at the time, after a year into the role.

Basil-Jones was the former head of Ebiquity in Australia before he was head-hunted internally to take on an international role in 2018. He was appointed as global president of the independent media and marketing consultancy, working out of their London headquarters.
