Nova 100’s Jase & Lauren take breakfast radio global

The show will broadcast from key Californian destinations.

Nova 100 Melbourne breakfast hosts Jase Hawkins, Lauren Phillips and Clint Stanaway are taking Jase & Lauren overseas, broadcasting from California as part of a new on-air promotion with Visit California and Qantas.

The promotion will see the Nova 100 breakfast team broadcast live from multiple locations across California, giving listeners an inside look at the destination while competing for what the station is calling the ultimate California getaway.

Broadcasting from across the Golden State

The show will broadcast from key California destinations, including Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and Joshua Tree, before culminating in coverage of the Super Bowl in San Francisco.

Listeners will be taken behind the scenes of the trip through live broadcasts and digital content, showcasing both the destination and the major prize on offer.

Hawkins said taking the show overseas was a new way to engage audiences.

“We love finding new ways to surprise our audience and taking the show to California while giving away a trip like this is something really special,” Hawkins said. “If that means enduring sunshine and cocktails, I’m happy to take one for the team.”

Phillips said the broadcasts aim to immerse listeners in the experience.

“Listeners will feel like they’re right there with us, hearing about the places, the atmosphere and everything that makes California such an incredible destination,” Phillips said.

Stanaway said the trip would offer something different for breakfast radio.

“It’s not every day you take a Melbourne breakfast show to California,” Stanaway said. “We’re excited to share the adventure with our audience back home.”

Major prize and tourism push

The major prize, to be awarded on Friday, 13 February, includes four return flights from Melbourne to California and a $10,000 Qantas Hotels voucher.

Caroline Beteta said the partnership aligned with California’s growing global appeal.

“California’s diversity, abundance and playful lifestyle create something no other destination can match – it truly is the Ultimate Playground,” Beteta said.

“With iconic global events on the horizon, including back-to-back Super Bowls, the FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, there’s never been a better time to plan a trip to the Golden State,” she said.

Beteta added that Visit California is expanding its planning resources to support the expected tourism surge.

“As California steps into a monumental year for tourism, Visit California and its tourism partners are working diligently to provide travellers with enhanced planning tools, resources and inspiration,” she said.
