Thomas O’Brien has started as deputy head of news at Sky News Australia.

• CHEP Media has welcomed the appointments of Scott Crisp and Patrick Sands as group client directors.

Crisp returns agency-side as he joins CHEP Media’s Sydney office from his most recent role as media manager at Tabcorp. Over the course of his career, he’s spent two decades across integrated agency environments in London and Sydney, leading a diverse portfolio of clients, including AAMI, Dulux Group, rebel, Volkswagen, Westpac and more.

Hanan Dervisevic has joined ABC News National as a digital journalist with the audience engagement team.

Georgia Bakalich has started as a producer for 7NEWS Mackay.

• Icon Agency has announced three senior appointments, strengthening the agency’s Canberra presence and bolstering its digital capabilities.

The expansion furthers the agency’s mission to remain at the forefront of the web and service design space, meeting the needs of government and enterprise clients alike.

Jesse Burns has left journalism to join Asahi Beverages as a group corporate affairs specialist.

Cassidy Loane has been promoted to head of strategy at InStyle Australia after a year as managing editor/beauty director. 

• Guardian Media Group (GMG) has announced the appointment of Rebecca Costello as the managing director of Guardian Australia.

Reporting to GMG chief executive Anna Bateson, Costello will oversee the strategic direction and overall growth of the Guardian Australia business, working in partnership with editor Lenore Taylor.

• Primer has welcomed Kylie Morris as Australia’s first gendered violence reporter. 

• Channel 7 Wide Bay has welcomed Jamie Tenikoff as a reporter in Bundaberg.

• Nine has announced the appointment of Garry Bentlin as its new group director of cybersecurity.

Bentlin will be responsible for leading the ongoing development, implementation and embedding of the cybersecurity strategy and roadmap for Nine.

Amber Griffin is now a news reporter at NBN Central Coast.

Joanna Guelas has changed roles at AAP and is now a sports journalist.

The Works, Part of Capgemini, has announced the promotion of Claire Stapleton from the role of creative lead – copy to creative director.

Stapleton’s promotion underscores the agency’s commitment to nurturing talent from within and driving its creative capabilities to new heights.

Triple M head of metro content, Matt O’Reilly, has announced the return of Jay Mueller to the network as content director in Melbourne. 

Mueller has more than 25 years of experience in broadcast and digital media in Australia and the US and has had a long history at Triple M where he previously spent 10 years. During that time, he was executive producer of Melbourne’s No. 1 FM Breakfast show, The Hot Breakfast with Eddie McGuireMick Molloy and Luke Darcy and executive producer of the national Drive show, Kennedy Molloy

Rebecca Trewick will now be the new general manager for Mackay and the Whitsundays at Southern Cross Austereo.
