Meanwhile the BBC performed highly among those interested in both travel and sustainability being announced as the number one international online news brand among first class flyers, high spenders on international leisure trips and sustainability and environmental enthusiasts.

Jamie Chambers, VP, ANZ, BBC Studios, said: “This is a fantastic result for BBC News’ digital platforms, and demonstrates again the value BBC News offers advertisers looking to reach high value, hard-to-reach audiences in Australia.

“The newly published Reuters Digital News Report 2022 shows the declining trust and challenges facing many domestic news publishers in Australia, while BBC News’ focus on impartial and accurate journalism has seen our brand reinforce its market leading position amongst local commercial news organisation.

“This unique level of trust means advertisers can enjoy better engagement and more effective campaigns on our platforms and we look forward to helping brands achieve their goals as we face an increasingly challenging economic outlook,” Chambers added.

The Ipsos survey further showed that BBC News is the top international online news brand in APAC and the number one international online news brand in Hong Kong.

This comes as the BBC marks the centenary of its first broadcast in 1922. The BBC has championed storytelling and built a reputation for innovation and quality.

Across TV, radio and online, its output has had a significant impact on broadcasting and society, shaped social attitudes and demonstrated that the BBC has been a constant pioneer from its inception to the present day.

As the BBC marks one hundred years, it will mark the occasion with a series of special events and programmes to celebrate the unique role it plays in public life and reflect to inform, educate and entertain audiences in the UK and increasingly around the world.
