Fox Sports and Kayo secure SailGP rights extension ahead of weekend GP racing

Reigning champ Australia the team to beat as coverage of Bermuda Grand Prix event starts Sunday May 16

Fox Sports has secured a rights extension with SailGP that will see live coverage of the 2022/23 season broadcast across Foxtel and Kayo Sports, including races Kayo Freebies.

The first global sail event for the season gets underway in Bermuda on May 15 – 16 as part of an extended series of 11 races expected to conclude in April 2023.

Olympic gold medallist Tom Slingsby will again lead the Australian team, who will compete against the likes of Denmark, France, Great Britain, Japan, New Zealand, Spain, United States and newcomers to the series, Canada, and Switzerland.

Season 3 of SailGP docu-series Racing on The Edge will also be available on Foxtel and Kayo throughout the 2022/23 season.

Foxtel Group chief executive officer Patrick Delany said, “We are thrilled to extend our long-standing partnership with SailGP and bring this incredible series of global events to our 2.4 million sports subscribers across Foxtel and Kayo Sports. This year we will bring every global sailing event of the season to even more Australians live and free on Kayo Freebies.”
