Box Office: The Batman remains #1, RRR makes a strong entrance

This week the box office made $8.11 million, down 12% from last weekend’s total of $9.16 million. Across the board, the top 20 films brought in an average of $2,827 over 2,868 screens, down 402 screens from last weekend.

For the fourth week in a row, The Batman continues to bring in the biggest numbers for the box office, with a revenue of over $2 million.

Making its way into the charts for the first time and placing second in the box office is Indian action drama film RRR. Directed by S.S. Rajamouli, the film follows the journey of two Indian freedom fighters in the 1920s.

Placing third is comedy-drama Dog, falling one spot from second last week.

Action-adventure film, Uncharted remains steady at fourth place, while Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie falls from third to fifth. Dropping out of the top five this week is Indian Hindi-language The Kashmir Files, which grossed $147,328 this week.

#1, The Batman, $2.87 million

Claiming the #1 spot for the fourth week in a row, The Batman averaged $5,417 over 529 screens this weekend. To date, the film has brought in a total of $33,070,723.

#2, RRR, $1.80 million

Making its debut in the box office this weekend, Indian blockbuster starring NTR Jr and Ram Charan, RRR averaged $10,180 over 177 screens in its opening weekend.

#3, Dog, $1.01 million

Directed by Channing Tatum, Dog averaged $2,906 over 347 screens this weekend. Over two weeks the film has grossed a total of $2,701,873.

#4, Uncharted, $773,787

Starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, Uncharted averaged $2,512 over 308 screens, grossing $17,488,708 to date.

#5, Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie, $393,387

Based on the Manga series, Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie averaged $2,713 over 145 screens, down 58% from last week. The film has pulled in a total of $1,595,825 to date.
