Singles

After returning to the top spot last week, The Kid Laroi and Justin Beiber maintain #1 on this week’s ARIA singles chart with Stay. It becomes the 16th week at #1 for the track, taking it to outright second on the list of most weeks at #1 on the ARIA singles chart. The record for most weeks at #1 is currently held by Tones And I’s Dance Monkey, which spent 24 weeks at #1 between August 2019 and January 2020.

This week is the 30th week in the top 50 for Stay.

Nine weeks into its run in the top 50, Lost Frequencies and Calum Scott’s collaboration Where Are You Now jumps up seven spots to hit a new peak at #5. The track has also peaked inside the top ten in the UK, New Zealand and many charts across Europe.

Moving up five spots, We Don’t Talk About Bruno from Disney’s Encanto cracks a new peak at #6. While the movie’s soundtrack remains at #2 for a second week, the track Surface Pressure hits a new peak at #18. A third song from the soundtrack, The Family Madrigal, has debuted this week at #44.

The dance re-interpretation of Men At Work’s Down Under by Gold Coast DJ/producer Luude moves to #10 in its fifth week in the ARIA Top 50. The track is currently the #1 single in New Zealand.

Albums

After dropping to #4 last week, The Weeknd jumps back to #1 on the ARIA albums chart with Dawn FM. It’s the third week at #1 for the Canadian star’s fourth chart-topper. His first three #1 albums only spent a week each in the top spot.

This week marks exactly a year on the charts for The Weeknd’s greatest hits album, The Highlights.

The highest ranking Australian album this week comes from Sydney’s The Kid Laroi, with F*ck Love: Over You coming in at #12. Released in July 2021 and including the hit Stay, it’s the third mixtape in the F*ck Love trilogy.

#21: The Whitlams ‘Sancho’ – Sydney indie veterans The Whitlams hit the albums chart for the first time in over a decade, debuting at #21 with Sancho. It’s the group’s first new album in 16 years, following on from Little Cloud which hit #4 in March 2006. Between albums, The Whitlams released the compilation Truth, Beauty And A Picture Of You: Best Of The Whitlams coming in at #3 in August 2008. In 2011, front man Tim Freedman released the solo album, Australian Idle.
