The 1985 Kate Bush single Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) has scored a new singles chart peak, as it takes out #1 this week. It is the second week in the top 5, following the single’s re-entry last week at #2 off the back of its inclusion in Season Four of Netflix’s Stranger Things.

It is also the first #1 ARIA singles chart placement of the ARIA era in Kate Bush’s illustrious career, having previously claimed a pre-ARIA #1 with Wuthering Heights in early 1978.

As he tours the country, Sydney’s The Kid Laroi has shot up the charts. His track Thousand Miles jumped from #20 to #6 last week, continuing to rise this week from #6 to #5 – making it the highest ranked Australian single – while previous chart topper Stay follows closely behind, moving from #7 to #6.

Following the release of his fourth studio album Twelve Carat Toothache, Post Malone’s single I Like You (A Happier Song) feat. Doja Cat debuts at #7 in the ARIA singles chart. Earlier single Cooped Up feat. Roddy Ricch notches up 13 spots to #10 and is also joined by a singles chart debut of #30 by Wasting Angels Feat. The Kid Laroi and a re-entry at #42 for One Right Now by Post Malone & The Weekend, also from the album.

Vegas by Doja Cat debuts this week at #17, her first chart debut of 2022. Vegas is the lead single from the soundtrack of the upcoming Elvis Presley biopic Elvis directed by Baz Luhrmann. The single features a sample of Big Mama Thornton’s 1952 song Hound Dog originally written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller and brought to notoriety by Presley. Doja Cat’s previous single, Woman, enters its 40th week in the top 50 this week.

Ed Sheeran’s 2Step hits a new peak this week, jumping into the singles chart top 50 at #44. The track’s rise in popularity comes after a flow of global remixes, featuring artists from around the world. This week also marks 50 weeks in the top 50 for Sheeran’s previous single Bad Habits.

Maroon 5’s latest release Singles Collection notches up five spots to reach a new chart peak at #14. Maroon 5 are currently in the midst of a global tour. A consistent performer, this is the album’s 163rd week in the top 50.

Coming in at #25 this week , Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon, the posthumous album from Pop Smoke, marks its 100th week in the top 50.
