Singles

Harry Styles’ As It Was hits its third week at #1 on the ARIA singles chart. The Brit’s previous #1 single Sign Of The Times spent only one week in the top spot in April 2017.

Big Energy by American hip hop artist Latto continues its climb up the chart, this week moving four spots to #6. It’s the sixth week in the top 50 for the song, which features Mariah Carey and DJ Khaled on a remix.

Lizzo scores this week’s highest debuting track, hitting #12 with About Damn Time as the song goes viral on TikTok. It’s the first track to drop from the American singer-songwriter/rapper’s fourth album, Special, set for release in July. Lizzo charted last year with the Cardi B collaboration Rumors, peaking at #16. To date, her highest chart peak has been with Good As Hell at #6 in November 2019.

Willow Smith’s Wait A Minute jumps up twelve spots to hit a new peak at #25. Appearing on Smith’s debut album, Ardipithecus, the 2015 single has more recently gone viral on TikTok.

Lauren Spencer-Smith’s Flowers moves up 15 spots to #26 in its third week on the chart. To date, the track from the Canadian singer-songwriter has hit the top 20 in both Canada and the UK.

Canadian star Justin Bieber collects his first new top 50 entry of 2022 as he debuts at #28 with the Don Toliver-featured Honest. Bieber last charted with Ghost, peaking at #11 in November 2021 – Ghost sits at #17 this week, and it marking its 30th week in the top 50.

Albums

American rapper Future claims his first #1 on the ARIA charts as he debuts at the top of the albums chart with I Never Liked You. The ninth album from Future comes two years on from High Off Life and includes guest spots by Kanye West, Drake, Young Thug, Gunna, and more. The only other top 10 entry for Future was with the Drake collaboration What a Time to Be Alive which hit #4 in September 2015.

Rammstein score a new ARIA albums chart career peak as they debut at #3 with Zeit. The German industrial veterans’ eighth album follows on from their self-titled album released in 2019 and becomes their fourth top ten entry.

In the lead up to Mother’s Day, Adele’s catalogue shot back up the chart. Most recent album 30 climbs 29 spots to #5, while 25 is up 22 to #25 and 21 re-enters at #35.

The Weeknd’s previous #1, Dawn FM, races back up the chart 22 spots to #8. It comes on the back of the first release of the album on vinyl, resulting in it topping this week’s ARIA vinyl albums chart. Dawn FM spent three non-consecutive weeks at #1 in January/February.

Debuting at #29, Melbourne psychedelic jazz fusion Mildlife take out their second top 50 entry on the back of the live album, Live From South Channel Island. The album and its accompanying film were recorded on the man-made island in Melbourne’s Port Phillip Bay on March 10th 2021. It features tracks from the group’s previous album, Automatic, which won Mildlife the Best Jazz Album title at the 2021 ARIA Awards.

This week marks 50 weeks in the top 50 for Oliva Rodrigo‘s Sour, 40 weeks for Happier Than Ever by Billie Eilish, and 60 weeks for After Hours by The Weeknd.
