The Daily Telegraph is bringing together Australia’s top political leaders for its Future Western Sydney event, staged at the new Western Sydney International Airport ahead of its official opening.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Chris Minns and Angus Taylor will headline the event, marking a key moment in the publication’s long-running advocacy for the region.
The event highlights two major infrastructure projects long championed by the masthead, the Western Sydney International Airport and the Powerhouse Parramatta museum.
Both projects are positioned as central to the region’s economic transformation and future growth.

Leaders take the stage
Albanese and Minns will deliver keynote addresses, while all three leaders will participate in Q&A sessions moderated by editor Ben English and Anna Caldwell.
The discussions will focus on the challenges and opportunities shaping Western Sydney, including housing, infrastructure and essential services for its rapidly expanding and multicultural population.
The event will also feature a range of speakers across government, business and sport, including Prue Car, Simon Hickey, Lisa Havilah, Noemie Fox and Tayla Preston.
Holding leaders accountable
English said the event builds on the Telegraph’s long-standing campaign for the region.
“We launched our Fair Go For The West campaign in 2014 to tackle systemic funding inequity from all levels of government that was punishing the region and crippling its prospects,” he said.
“The new airport and museum are proof of what’s possible when advocacy meets action.”
He added that while progress is being made, further investment is needed.
“Our Future Western Sydney event is about maintaining that momentum and holding leaders accountable.”
